Parallel Growth

Parallel Growth

The shop has grown up with me.

As I am buying for the shop this season, I wanted to reflect on where I’ve come from and my experience since starting this journey of mine.

I started selling to a college demographic, people in the same season of life as me at the time. Eveything felt faster then, trend driven, impulsive, built around random moments instead of longevity. And to be honest with you, at the time it made sense because I was still figuring out who I was, too. I was only about 20 years old.

I remember my very first buying trip feeling completely overwhelmed. I was a junior in college, my family was preparing to move thousands of miles away, and I felt so unsure of myself. I bought random pieces that didn’t really go together. Nothing made much sense, I was only focused on what would sell and how to stretch every dollar (to be fair, this was 100% warrented since I didn't have any capital to start) I was experimenting, learning my taste in real time, and trying to find my footing.

Now almost 25, the shop has softened and matured alongside me, which feels really special. My client looks different. The pieces I’m selecting feel more intentional, more grounded, more lasting.

The shop has become such a clear reflection of my own growth, and that feels incredibly meaningful to share with all of you. Every season I buy with more clarity, and I’m grateful to have people who continue to meet me where I am.

This past week, we were out sourcing for Spring/Summer ’26, and I’m genuinely so excited about what we’re bringing in.

When I say "we" it refers to my mom (my best friend) she's been helping with the buying process since I opened the storefront which has been so much fun we genuinely have a great time buying.

We also brought Sara my Brand Rep (and now my good friend which at this point feels like my younger sister) with us this trip so she could see how everything works, learn a little something about the sourcing process and see how it translates to the shop. It's been cool being someone's mentor as well (also a learning experience for me). She's been such an asset to the buisness and my life. Grateful for her.

Color-wise, the palette felt soft but intentional. I saw a ton of different blue hues, greens, pinks and light yellow. There’s definetely a quiet confidence happening in color right now, and it aligns so naturally with the direction we’re moving.

My style has always leaned neutral, but I’m honestly excited to break it up with some of these subtle pops of color. Not just in the shop but in my personal wardrobe as well.  Nothing too loud or overpowering, just enough to add interest and dimension while still feeling timeless and wearable.

When I first started buying for the shop, I naturally gravitated toward all neutrals—because that’s what I was wearing at the time. But after the first year, I had a couple of realizations. The first was that I can’t only buy pieces based on my personal style. And the second? We need color in this world—for more reasons than one.

Trend-wise, polka dots and stripes were everywhere. We’re bringing in a super cute midi skirt with a very subtle polka dot, but we kept it minimal so it doesn’t feel overdone. (Pictured below)

We decided to bring in some fun new sunnies for this Spring & Summer. I am so obsessed with the green and maroon frames. These are designed by the brand Freyers which is based out of Chicago. Featured in Vogue, Cosmo, Forbes, WWD and many more. Each pair will retail at about $85.

I have tried to bring in other lines of sunglasses and while they were cute and affordable, this line had the best quality (by far) and at this point in my life, having a quality pair of sunglasses is needed.

You better believe I will be taking a pair of the Voyagers for myself (pictured below)

I attached a few of my favorite finds below. Everything will start to sprinkle into the shop starting now through April/May.

We were all so obsessed with this skirt when we found it. The bubble hem has been in for while now. We had a leather one for fall and it was so cute. But the denim we couldn't resist.

This style will for sure move fast 😉

Give me all the shades of blue this season. This lightweight cardigan will be perfect for transition and summer evenings.

She made a short apperance last spring but due to popular demand we couldn't get her back. So, she's here now.

If you have been in our shop, then you know we only have about 600 square feet and not a lot of storage. We are quickly outgrowing our space (a good problem to have) but because of this, we don't keep a large backstock of inventory so when you see something you really love, make sure you get your hands on it because we might not be getting it back!

Some other honorable mentions, can't wait to style these pieces.

If you've made it this far, you're a real one. I hope to see you soon in the shop. Nothing excites me more than seeing a familar face. And obviously new ones! I hope you like what you are seeing so far, this doesn't even make a dent in the amount of new styles we're bringing in these next few months so I hope you get your hands on something you love.

See you next month,

Sophia
